Project Management using PRINCE2 methodology

Supported by industry certified project management staff, Focus On Business successfully deliver projects against their own Delivery Excellence methodology based on PRINCE2*.

We apply best practices from project inception to completion our delivery approach ensures that projects are under control, products delivered are of high quality, reporting is accurate, and that a full delivery audit trail is held throughout the project lifecycle.

It is flexible enough to 'plug' into and enhance any customers' methodology by offering best practice templates that provide a joint-up approach between customer and supplier, as well as sharing products and plans over the internet to meet customer reporting requirements.

Stage reviews are performed in providing asurance to the customer that the project is progressing to timescales, milestones are being met and delivered within budget. These reviews use predefined templates based on managing successful projects over 20 years.

Delivery obstacles and progress are appropriately reported and any actions are carried out in a timely manner. By applying our extensive experience we continue to support our customers in future enhancements and their on-going success.

Strong Risk Management, Issue Management and Change Management form part of ensuring a successful implementation.

Our Risk Management process plans for the unforeseen events thereby meeting customer milestones

Whatever the size of the project we understand the importance of strong risk management, and practice it throughout its project lifecycle though risk identification, risk evaluation and risk mitigation.

Risk Management is monitored and controlled through Project Board meetings, weekly progress reports, stage and monthly reviews, and team progress meetings. These will ensure that risk monitoring and risk control is being undertaken and reduces the chance of any additional resources required during the project delivery. This also ensures that risks are accurately and adequately recorded for quality purposes.

All risks and their mitigating actions are captured in the Risk Register, which acts as the drive for risk monitoring.

Our Issue Management ensures control and progresses delivery

Our delivery team track and monitor issues from project inception to completion. Without issue management, any issues rising from the project delivery and left unresolved will impede or prohibit delivery progress.

To ensure issues are being managed and tracked effectively and efficiently, all issues are logged in the Issues Register, where each issue is prioritised, assigned an owner and resolution.

Our Change Management process delivers customers projects on time and within budget

We understand that it is very uncommon for a project to be delivered without change to the approved specifications. This may be due to a change in Government legislation, change to the customer's business needs, enhancements to existing systems, or when new technology becomes available.

To ensure successful project delivery, we apply change control to manage the scope of its projects. It ensures that changes to scope only happen in a controlled manner and communicated to all relevant stakeholders.

The process will provide protection to the project's agreed timescales and costs by ensuring that changes are only included if they are either in the agreed project's budget and timescales or by increasing the project's budget and timescales.

Without change control the scope of the project can delay the timescales, increase the costs, impact customer-supplier relationship, and create requirements for additional skill sets irrespective of how well the project delivery is planned.
