Environment
Our environmental programme is committed in addressing the growing concern on the world's environment and the impact IT organisation's contribute towards it. We realise as a responsible global company that for a cleaner, greener future we must contribute to the fighting against climate change.
This is why our Environment Programme has been set-up to share environmental awareness with its employees, customers, suppliers, and partners. Our Environment Programme includes the following initiatives:
- Increasing employee awareness. Our employees are aware through training, events and announcements that everything they do for our organisation has an environmental impact, which is why we encourage green employee actions such as Smart Travel (public transport, car sharing) and Energy Reduction (switching off lights, printers, and computers when not in use).
- Reducing internal emails. It is estimated that managers spend 5 to 20 hours a week reading and responding to emails, which is clearly unsustainable. Focus On Business reduce email traffic by utilising collaborative systems, instant messaging, video conferencing, and other social community platforms.
- Promoting sustainability among suppliers. As we are dedicated to improving the environment we also look at our suppliers to ensure they also have a green agenda, and see how our joint policies can work in harmony with the environment.
Communities
As a company covering Asia Pacific, we are committed to improving the lives of our communities in everything we do. We liaise closely with our suppliers, partners and stakeholders to understand the impact they have on their communities and what action plan they have in place to reduce and minimise this impact.
Part of our on-going commitment is to donate to charitable activities through one-off donations, charitable events and fundraising opportunities.
